NANCY BOWMAN- 1971

Bowman was a 3 year starter for the Lady Panthers when in her junior year she averaged 26 points per game, was the second leading scorer in the District, and voted Best Offensive and team MVP. Her senior year, she was elected Co-Captain and averaged over 30 points per game, was leading scorer in the District and fifth in the state. She made All District and MVP. She scored over 1300 points in her career. She played for The Tennessee Lady Vols 4 years, including playing on Pat Head Summitt's first team. She made All State TCWSF in 1974 and tried out for the World Games in 1974. In addition to basketball, she also was a member of the Lady Vols' Field Hockey team and served as Tri-Captain in 1974. She coached Women's basketball at the University of the South from 1980-1990, where she coached 3 All Americans. Presently, she is Assistant Athletics Director and Women's golf coach at the University of the South. She was elected to the Hall of Fame in 2006.

Tommy Bradshaw

Sports Editor

Sports Editor known as the "Father" of the LCHS Hall of Fame, Bradshaw was the sports historian of the Lenoir City sports program. He joined other sports enthusiasts in 1969 to create and elect the first members to the Hall of Fame for 1970.As the sports editor of the old Lenoir City News Banner, he wrote articles and amassed information and statistics on all sports. Not only is he credited with naming the school mascot the "Panthers", he also was the author of the book, "The Panthers Prowl", which has become the bible for Lenoir City basketball history. He compilied statistics and photographs from its inception through the State Championship days of 1958. He was honored by having the baseball field named after him. We think he would be proud of the recognition the Hall of Fame gets today and would certainly welcome the newly elected members. He was elected to the Hall of Fame in 2004.

John Brannon

Coach

"Casey" began his LCHS coaching career in 1949 and continued through 1977. During his tenure he NEVER had a losing season, compiling an envious record of 359-157. In addition to his duties with baseball, he also was the junior high football coach and an assistant high school football coach. Retiring in 1987, he continued to be a substitute teacher and occasionally did play-by-play on radio. He also wrote for the Knoxville newspapers and was a feature sportswriter for the Lenoir City News/Banner. He was nominated to the East Tennessee Coaches Hall of Fame and was elected and inducted in 2004. He was elected to the LCHS Hall of Fame in 2008.

Billy Browder - 1925

Browder was a member of the great teams of 1924 and 1925, when he was a prolific point producer and all round performer and elected Captain of the team. He made All East Tennessee team in both 1924 and 1925. He also played and starred in football. He later attended Tennessee Wesleyan and starred on the team that defeated the University of Tennessee in Knoxville. He was elected as a charter member to the Hall of Fame in 1970.

Vaughn Browder - 1912

Browder was one of the earlier basketball stars when the Lenoir City Panthers were known as the Lenoir City "Cartown Boys". He played center and was Captain of the 1912 team. He also played baseball and was a member of the track team. After college, He returned to Lenoir city and coached football and baseball. In fact, he was the first football coach in 1916-17. While he was an all around performer in almost any sport, he was selected for his many contributions to the sports program at LCHS. He was elected as a charter member to the Hall of Fame in 1970.
