Rosemary Hines Quillen - 1979

She played basketball four years for LCHS. She averaged 21 points her junior year, earning Best Offensive Player, All County and All District honors and All Tournament Team. As a senior, she averaged 28 points, had 90 offensive rebounds and 44 assists, and was Best Offensive Player. She was selected to the All County, All District, All Tournament and All Region teams after being the leading scorer in both the District and Region. She was Captain her last two years and left as the second leading scorer in school history, with 1854 points. She was also Captain of the first school volleyball team. She was offered a scholarship to Roane State at graduation. She continues to be involved with LCHS sports by serving on the Lenoir City School Board . She was elected to the LCHS Hall of Fame in 2008.

Emily HolderEMILY HOLDER (TENRY) - 2001

Emily played varsity soccer at Lenoir City High School from 1997 to 2000. She was selected A/AA All District her sophomore, junior and senior years. She was selected A/AA All Region her sophomore, junior and senior years. She was selected TACA A/AA All State her sophomore and junior years. Emily was the all-time LCHS scoring leader with 102 goals and 19 assists in her high school career. Emily also played basketball as a freshman. She graduated with a 3.9 GPA. She signed an athletic scholarship with the University of Alabama at Huntsville where she was a First Team Selection on the All-Gulf South Conference Soccer Team and was ranked second in goal scoring category for the team. She also played on two Club Competition State Championship Teams. Emily was inducted into the LCHS Sports Hall of Fame in 2016.

TYLER HOOD – 2010   Tyler Hood

Tyler played in 112 basketball games, averaging 19 points and 10 rebounds per game. He was the all-time leading scorer at Lenoir City High School with 2,147 points and 1140 rebounds. LCHS retired Tyler’s jersey #35 in 2011.  During his freshman year, Tyler scored 271 points, 190 rebounds, and 78 blocks.  He made the All-County Team, LC CAREacter Star Athlete, and Rotary Club Freshman of the Year. His sophomore year, he was awarded the News Herald All County Player of the Year, PrepXtra Player of the Week, PrepXtra All-Tournament Team – 3rd Team, Joe Lee Panther Pride Award, District 4AAA Honorable Mention, and Rotary Club Student of the Year. During his junior year, Tyler was awarded Region 2AAA/All-Region Team MVP, Regular Season; District 4AAA MVP, District 4AAAAll-Tournament Team, News Herald All Loudon County Player of the Year, Tennessee Sports Writers Association All-State, PrepXtra 1st Team, PrepXtra Player of the Week, and recipient of the Wendy’s High School Heisman Award (Scholarship, Athletics, Outstanding Achievements, Citizenship). He was also the Rotary Club Outstanding Junior of the Year.  His senior year, Tyler was a Mr. Basketball nominee, District 4AAA MVP, All Region 2AAA Team MVP, News Herald All-County Player of the Year, Tennessee Sports Writers Association All State Class AAA, PrepXtra 1st Team, All-Tournament Team, All District Team, and Tennessee McDonalds All-American Team nominee.  In addition to his sports awards, Tyler was Mr. LCHS, President of Student Council, President of the Senior Class, and Leader of Fellowship of Student Athletes.  Tyler earned a scholarship at Samford University, where he went on to play 5 years (D1 – SoCon). In 2015 he earned his Undergraduate Degree in Exercise Science with a minor in Psychology. In 2018 he became a Doctor of Physical Therapy. Tyler was inducted into the LCHS Sports Hall of Fame in 2023.

 

Lisa Hudson Webb

Lisa Hudson (Webb) - 1990
 

Lisa started all four years of basketball at Lenoir City High School. She scored over 1562 points in her career.

Lisa was named All District Team as a freshman, sophomore, junior and senior, All District Tournament as a sophomore, junior and senior; All Tournament Region as a freshman; All County as a sophomore and junior; All Region as a sophomore, junior, and senior; All Region All Tournament as a sophomore, junior, and senior; All East Tennessee as a sophomore, junior, and senior; All East Tennessee First Team as a sophomore, junior, and senior; Best Defensive Player as a sophomore; led the team in assists as a freshman, sophomore, junior and senior; Best Defensive Player as a junior, Most Valuable Player as a junior and senior; District Most Valuable Player as a senior; TACA McDonald's & Coca Cola District Player of the Year, Class AA as a senior, and Most Outstanding Athlete as a senior.

Lisa was offered full scholarships from both Furman University and Appalachian State University. She was elected and inducted into the Lenoir City High School Sports Hall of Fame in 2013.

Matt Hurst

MATT HURST - 1992

Matt started as a freshman and would have been a four-year starter except a knee injury side-lined him his entire sophomore year. He came back strong his junior year averaging 26.3 points per game with a 44 point game (modern-day record). As captain, he was All District, All Regional, All East Tennessee and Honorable Mention All State. He really cam alive his senior, making All District MVP, All Region MVP and led the team into the sub-state tournament. He was named to the Sports Writers All State Team. Scoring 19.3 ppg, 4 assists and 6 rebounds per game, he was a Mr. Basketball Nominee, McDonald's All American Nominee and left Lenoir City High School as the all-time leading scorer with 1696 points in 3 years of play. Going to Mars Hill College (Division II, South Atlantic Conference) he was a 4 year starter, with a career scoring of 1113 points. He led the team to the school's first regular season SAC Championship and as a senior was first place in the SAC in assist and free throw percentage, fourth in scoring at 17.8 ppg and made First Team All Conference and was selected to the Conference All Tournament Team. He was a great competitor with class and passion and above all, a great team player.  He was inducted into the LCHS HALL OF FAME in 2012.

Buddy Jenkins

Buddy “Turtle” Jenkins -1954

Turtle was a three-sports star in his high school career. He lettered four years in football, basketball, and three years in baseball. In football, he was a big end that played good defense and an outstanding receiver. In basketball, Turtle was a four-year started. In his senior year he scored 254 points and swept the boards for 223 rebounds. He helped lead the Panthers to the District Championship and a 20-6 record. In baseball Turtle was a great first baseman who could hit the long ball. He was also a starting pitcher and pitched a no-hitter during his senior year.   He was inducted into the LCHS Sports Hall of Fame in 2014.

Donnie Jenkins

Donnie Jenkins - 1961

Donnie Jenkins earned 3 basketball letters at LCHS. As senior, he was elected Captain and was Best Defensive player and All District. Led the team in assists and was second in scoring. He was a 2 year starter at Hiawassee Junior College and elected Captain his last year. He later was a 2 year starter at Berry College and again was elected Captain of his team. He coached basketball at Dalton (Ga.) High School and then returned as head coach and Athletic Director at Hiawassee Junior College. In his 14 years there, he won 71% of his games and was inducted into the Tennessee Junior College Hall of Fame in 1988. He was elected to the Hall of Fame in 2007.
