MARTY GALYON - 1979

Marty played football four years at LCHS. He played on one of the best football teams LCHS ever had under Coach Scott Conner. He won the defensive Headhunter Award his junior year and was also All-County. During his senior year, Marty, as an end, had 703 yards in pass receptions and scored 9 touchdowns. He also made 23 downfield blocks. As defensive back he made 32 tackles and punted 17 times for a 37-yard average. He played both offense and defense with equal ability. He was All-County his senior year and made the All East TN Game. He was the Top 20 in the state of Tennessee and led the state as a receiver for most touchdowns and yards per catch. He won the Mr. Panther Award and was voted Most Athletic. He also played baseball and basketball. Marty was inducted into the LCHS Sports Hall of Fame in 2016.

TIM GALYON - 1973

Galyon played and lettered 3 years in football and 2 years in golf while in high school. In football, he was voted Best Blocker his junior year and really came into his own his last year. Serving as Co Captain, he was named to the All County Team, the All East Tennessee Team (where he was the starting center in the East-West game), and All State. At 6-2 and 230 pounds, he played both offense and defense, with his play as offensive center earning him the nomination to the Hall of Fame. The team finished with an 8-3 record, the school best since 1949. He received several letters of interest from schools throughout the southeast and he chose Middle Tennessee State University and received a full grant-in-aid scholarship. He was elected to the Hall of Fame in 2009.

J.B. Hagler-1934

In football, as a fullback, he was devastating and carried several tacklers for extra yardage. He even broke his foot in one game-stayed out the next game and returned the next game with great play against Kingston. His greatest season was in 1934 when he led Lenoir City to an undefeated season. He was elected as a charter member to the Hall of Fame in 1970.

JORDAN HALL – 2012

Jordan was a four-year starter (46 games) on the LCHS
football team. He made the All-County Team in his sophomore year. His junior
year, he made All-County Team and Quarterback of the year. His senior year, he
made All-County Player of the Year and All-District Offensive MVP. The team
was ranked as high as #2 in the state and finished in the top 10. In his career,
Jordan completed 545 passes of 880 attempts for 7100 yards and 61 TD passes. He
had 371 rushing carries for 1400 yards with 25 TDs. Jordan was a four-year starter
in basketball. His sophomore year he was All-District, Loudon County Player of
the Year, District 4AAA All-Tournament Team. His junior year he was All-
District, Loudon County Player of the Year, 4AAA All District Tournament Team.
His senior year he was All District Team, Loudon County Player of the Year, All
Region Team, All District Tournament Team, 3 rd Team PrepXtra, Top 30 players in
State of Tennessee. Jordan hit 240 3-point shots and 1700 career points. He was 2 nd
all-time scoring in school history. Jordan signed with Lee University and later
transferred to Tennessee Wesleyan University. Jordan was inducted into the LCHS
Sports Hall of Fame in 2023.

MIKE HALL - 1980

Mike was a hard charging back, showing both power and speed, lettering 4 years in football. The Panthers compiled the best team record in school history his last 3 years, going 9-2 as a sophomore, 10-1 as a junior and finishing 12-1 as a senior. Mike became a member of the 1000 yard club as a junior, rushing for 1172 yards for an average of 11.5 yards per carry. On the other side of the ball, he made 37 tackles as a defensive back, becoming an easy selection as All-County. His last year he showed the year before was no fluke, rushing for 1772 yards, including 196 yards against Scott Co., and making the 1000 yard club again. He again was a terror defensively. The Panthers were undefeated in regular season and ranked #2 in the state. The Panthers also had a 20 straight win streak over his last 2 years. He was selected All-County, All-District, All-Region, All-State Honorable Mention and All-Tri-State. He also lettered in baseball his last year. Including Tennessee and Alabama, he received several letters of interest for his football play. He was elected to the Hall of Fame in 2009.

GENE HAMBY - HONORARY

Gene has been a resident of Lenoir City since 1947. He moved from Murphy, North Carolina and graduated from Hiawassee High School where he played basketball for 4 years.

Gene has been involved in Lenoir City sports programs for the the past 50 years as a member of the Quarterback Club, school board member and a member of City Council.

In 1961 the Quarterback Club was organized and he served on the origianl Board of Directors. The club began the first Midget Football program in Lenoir City. They hired the coaches, purchased uniforms, equipment and provided all the financial needs for the teams.

In the 1970s, along with Tommy Bradshaw, they formed the LCHS Sports Hall of Fame by selecting 35 of the most outstanding athletes that played at LCHS. Gene has the minutes of the original Charter and plans to donate them into the archives of the Sports Hall of Fame.

Gene was elected to the School Board in 1970 and served for 12 years. During this period he was a strong supporter of the sports programs of the the city and the schools. Gene was a friend and mentor of many of the student athletes during and after his time on the Board. He attended most sporting events at home and away. He was instrumental in supporting the construction of the LCHS Football Field House. He was inducted into the LCHS Hall of Fame in 2010.

After serving on the Board of Education, he was elected to the Lenoir City Council in 1983 and has continued to serve on that Council. As a memeber of the Council, he has brought support and financial assistance to the LCHS Sports Hall of Fame. He was very supportive and active in building and financing the LC Sports Complex.

Gene continues to give his time by serving on the Board of Directors for the LCHS Sports Hall of Fame. Gene truly loves Lenoir City and has been one of the sports program’s most loyal fans and supporters. He was inducted in 2010.
