Back To School Shopping
The Kiwanis Club of Tellico Village sponsors the Back-to-School Clothing project at the Lenoir City Wal-Mart in July. The Club is especially indebted to our corporate sponsor, Malibu Boats, for its generous support of the event.
Held in collaboration with the Family Resource Center in Lenoir City and Loudon County schools, students and their parents shop for new clothes for the upcoming school year.
A special thanks is extended to the Wal-Mart Store Manager and associates for their assistance.
The program is intended to make the first day of school even more memorable and provide clothing assistance to children in need. If your children need assistance with clothing, contact the FRC at 865-986-0518 to check availablity.
“Reading Buddies” – 3rd Grade Reading Program for 2025-2026 School Year
The GFWC Suburbia Woman’s Club of Lenoir City has committed to sponsoring our new initiative, “Reading Buddies,” for the 2025-2026 school year. This program will collaborate with third-grade students at Lenoir City Elementary School by providing the necessary funding to purchase a stuffed animal for each student, which will serve as their “Reading Buddy.”
This initiative utilizes stuffed animals to create a supportive environment for children to practice reading, with the goal of instilling a lifelong love for literature. The Reading Buddies function as attentive companions, enhancing engagement and fostering relaxation during storytime. Additionally, they encourage creativity by inspiring children to draw or write about the adventures they experience with their books. Support for this program is essential in promoting literacy and enriching the educational experiences of young learners.
